My Favourite Model Ever

When we can tell "This is my favourite model"? Maybe when we think how beautiful a certain model is. Every model has his/her personality obviously, but when we they model they can't express themselves. They don't have to smile, for example.

I like many models, but my favourite is my beloved cousin Jessica. She is not a professional model (yet). We used to model for our fashion school and every time I saw her walking down the catwalk I thought "She is so beautiful". She is not only a gorgeous girl inside and out, but she is extremely elegant on the catwalk and she melts with every gown she wears.

Quando possiamo dire "Questo modello/a è il mio preferito"? Forse quando pensiamo a quanto sia bello/a un/a certo/a modello/a. Ogni modello/a ha la propria personalità ovviamente, ma quando sfilano non possono  esprimerla. Non devono ridere, per esempio.

Mi piacciono molti modelli/e, ma la mia preferita è la mia adorata cugina Jessica. Non è una modella professionista (ancora). Sfilavamo per la nostra scuola di moda e ogni volta che la vedevo camminare sulla passerella pensavo "E' così bella". Non è solo una bellissima ragazza dentro e fuori, ma è estremamente elegante sulla passerella e si fonde con ogni abito che indossa.

This dress was inspired by The Chesire Cat and the fashion show theme was Alice In Wonderland. A classmate of mine and me tailored the dress.

Questo abito era ispirato allo Stregatto e il tema della sfilata era Alice Nel Paese Delle Meraviglie. Una mia compagna di classe ed io abbiamo confezionato l'abito.

This gown was inspired by Antonio Canova's masterpiece "Psyche Revived By Cupid's Kiss" and the fashion theme was the Neoclassicism.

Questo abito era ispirato al capolavoro di Antonio Canova "Amore e Psiche" e il tema della sfilata era il Neoclassicismo.

This suit was inspired the mannish trousers started by Coco Chanel. The fashion theme was women emancipation, don't mind about Audrey. I drew the trousers.

Questo completo era ispirato ai pantaloni maschili lanciati da Coco Chanel. Il tema della sfilata era l'emancipazione femminile, non fate caso ad Audrey. Ho disegnato i pantaloni.

Here we are in the backstage! "Backstage"... we were behind a square, ahahah! My outfit was inspired by a Coco Chanel's picture. I did either her and my makeup. Altough I look like a clown in this picture, my makeup was quite pretty.

Eccoci nel backstage! "Backstage"... eravamo dietro una piazza, ahahah! Il mio completo era ispirato ad una foto di Coco Chanel. Ho truccato sia lei che me. Sebbene in questa foto sembri un clown, il mio trucco era abbastanza carino.

Same square, different fashion show. Frankly, I didn't understand what this dress was inspired by, but the fashion theme was fashion and cinema. The dress was super super heavy because of the embroidery and it had a really long train, but it was no big deal for her.

She turns 21 today! Happy birthday, darling! I love you!

Stessa piazza, sfilata diversa. Sinceramente, non ho capito a che cosa fosse ispirato questo abito, ma il tema della sfilata era moda e cinema. Il vestito era super super pesante per via dei ricami e aveva uno strascico molto lungo, ma non è stato un problema per lei.

Oggi compie 21 anni! Buon compleanno, tesoro! Ti voglio bene!

How To Get Pretty In A Hurry

Scenario: you have to hang out. Your boyfriend calls you and tells you "I'll pick you up at... I don't know. I don't even know where to go" and you are still in your underwear. So you don't know what to wear, how to do your makeup and hair because both of you have no idea when and where to meet.
Don't panic! Here are some tips on how to solve this problem.


1. Do as I do, while you are having a shower think what you should wear, this is really time saving. You can pick your clothes immediately after a shower.
2. Don't get creative with your makeup, stick with the types of makeup you have already tried to save time. If you have bought new make up items recently and if you haven't tried them yet, don't try them in a moment like this. You may not like how they look on you and you may have to remove your makeup.
When I'm in a hurry, I like to wear a bold lipstick with a simple eye makeup.
3. Don't get creative with your hair either, don't try to do impossible hairdos you have never worn. Wear your hair down or grab it in a ponytail, in a bun or in a simple hairdo like these. When I'm in a rush, I like wearing my hair in a ponytail to look polished in a few minutes.
4. Wear an outfit you love and you have already worn, this is the key! Don't try any other matches, choose your best one and wear it. In my opinion the best thing to do is wearing a dress. You slip it over your head and you are ready.
5. You don't know where to go, so you don't know what the weather will be like, if the bag you wore the last time you hung out matches your outfit, don't change it, but make sure it is fit for the occasion. If you are about to go out in the evening, it should be big enough to hold a cardigan, for example.

Come essere carine in un attimo


Scenario: dovete uscire. Il vostro ragazzo vi chiama e vi dice "Ti vengo a prendere alle... Non lo so. Non so nemmeno dove andare" e voi siete ancora in mutande. Quindi non sapete cosa mettervi, come fare trucco e capelli perché nessuno dei due ha idea di dove e quando incontrarsi.
Niente panico! Ecco alcune dritte per risolvere questo problema.


1. Fate come me, mentre state facendo la doccia pensate a cosa dovreste mettere, questo fa risparmiare molto tempo. Potete scegliere gli abiti subito dopo la doccia.
2. Non siate creative con il trucco, limitatevi ai tipi di trucco che avere già provato per risparmiare tempo. Se avete comprato nuovi trucchi di recente e non li avete ancora provati, non provateli in un momento come questo. Potrebbe non piacervi come vi stanno e potreste dovervi struccare. Quando sono di fretta, preferisco indossare un rossetto audace con un trucco occhi semplice.
3. Non sia creative neanche con i capelli, non provate a fare acconciature impossibili che non avete mai indossato. Portate i capelli sciolti o raccoglieteli in una coda, in uno chignon o in un'acconciatura semplice come queste. Quando sono di fretta, mi piace portare i capelli in una coda per sembrare in ordine in pochi minuti. 
4. Indossate una mise che adorate e che avete già indossato, non provate altri abbinamenti, scegliete il migliore e indossatelo. Secondo me la cosa migliore da fare è indossare un abito. Ve lo infilate da sopra la testa e siete pronte.
5. Non sapete dove andare, quindi non sapete come sarà il tempo, se la borsa che avete indossato l'ultima volta che siete uscite si abbina alla mise, non cambiatela, ma accertatevi che sia adatta per l'occasione. Se state per uscire di sera, dovrebbe essere grande abbastanza da contenere un cardigan, per esempio.

Le frange sono concentrate sulla parte superiore e sul centro del costume, quindi esaltano il seno e la pancia piatta. E' meglio se siete alte perché la mutandina poco sgambata accorcia le gambe.

"Coco Before Chanel" is a biographical film about the French designer Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel. Just a suggestion. Watch the trailer below instead of reading the plot on Wikipedia. 

I won't write the plot, the only thing I can say about this film is... stunning. Everything is perfect. This film offers a really lucid and unsentimental view of her life although it was not all rainbows and butterflies at all. Normally I don't watch the same movie over ad over, but yesterday I watched this for the fourth time and it never ceases to amaze me. In my opinion, before studying designers' career, you must know their story. Sometimes it can tell you a lot about their creations. If you don't know why she changed the world of fashion, read something about it before watching this masterpiece. During the movie the camera focuses on the innovations she brought, but you might not pick out all of them. Don't miss it.


"Coco Avant Chanel" è un film biografico sulla stilista francese Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel. Solo un consiglio: guardate il trailer qui sotto invece di leggere la trama su Wikipedia. Non scriverò la trama, l'unica cosa che posso dire di questo film è... favoloso. Tutto è perfetto. Questo film offre una visione molto lucida e non sentimentale della sua vita benché non fu assolutamente tutta rose e fiori. Normalmente non guardo lo stesso film ancora e ancora, ma ieri ho guardato questo per la quarta volta e non smette mai di sorprendermi. Secondo me, prima di studiare la carriera degli stilisti, devi conoscere la loro storia. A volte può dirla lunga sulle loro creazioni. Se non sapete perché lei cambiò il mondo della moda, leggete qualcosa in merito prima di guardare questo capolavoro. Durante il film la telecamera si concentra sulle innovazioni che portò, ma potreste non coglierle tutte. Non perdetevelo.

The Jersey Shore Effect

I'm a really open-minded person when it comes to talk about beauty, but I can't find anything beautiful in Jersey Shore cast. Let's talk about their concept of beauty.


Sono una persona dalla mentalità molto aperta quando si parla di bellezza, ma non riesco a trovare niente di bello nel cast di Jersey Shore. Parliamo del loro concetto di bellezza.

Boys
They spend hours trying to tame their hair with too much gel. I can't even imagine how hard must be for them to brush those bulletproof and sticky mops of hair before going to sleep.
They overpluck their eyebrows like those young girls who have never seen a pair of tweezers.
They haven't got simply a muscular build, they are pumped, they are about to explode!
They're not simply tanned, they are so orange they look like Oompa Loompas!
They have huge and gross tattoos on their chest, on their arms, on their calves and on their backs, such as Jesus Cross, Italian flag, stars and writings.
They wear sunglasses at night.
They dress like pimps.
They wear massive jewellery. Pope, u jelly?
They are totally hairless.


Ragazzi
Passano ore cercando di domare i propri capelli con troppo gel. Non riesco neanche ad immaginare quanto possa essere difficile per loro spazzolare quelle masse di capelli appiccicose e antiproiettile prima di andare a dormire.
Si strappano troppo le sopracciglia come quelle ragazzine che non hanno mai visto un paio di pinzette.
Non sono semplicemente muscolosi, sono gonfiati, stanno per esplodere!
Non sono semplicemente abbronzati, sono talmente arancioni da sembrare Oompa Loompa!
Hanno dei tatuaggi enormi e grezzi sul petto, sulle braccia, sui polpacci e sulla schiena, come la Croce, la bandiera italiana, stelle e scritte.
Indossano gli occhiali da sole di notte.
Si vestono come dei papponi.
Indossano gioielli massicci. Papa, sei geloso?
Sono completamente glabri.

Girls

They're orange too.

They wear too much makeup. I wear the same amount of foundation in a week and she seems ten years older.

They wear very unnatural looking contact lenses. Doesn't she look like an alien?

They prove that sometimes a push up bra is way better than an awful breast job.

They dress like tramps. Too many sequins, too many animal prints, too much lace, too much underwear showing, too much skin showing. Everything is too much.

They wear gross gel nails. Looking like a crocodile YOU'RE DOING IT RIGHT.

They wear the worst extensions I've have ever seen. They seem to be made of fishing line.

There was enough bad taste around before Jersey Shore was broadcasted by MTV, but now we can officially say goodbye to the Old Hollywood glamour.

Ragazze

Anche loro sono arancioni.

Sono troppo truccate. Uso la stessa quantità di fondotinta in una settimana e sembra più vecchia di dieci anni.

Indossano delle lenti a contatto molto innaturali. Non sembra un'alieno?

Dimostrano che a volte un reggiseno push up è molto meglio di un terribile intervento al seno.

Si vestono come sgualdrine. Troppe paillettes, troppe stampe animalier, troppo pizzo, troppa biancheria intima in vista, troppa pelle in veste. Tutto è eccessivo.

Indossano unghie ricostruite grossolane. Sembrare un coccodrillo LO STAI FACENDO NEL MODO GIUSTO.

Portano le extensions peggiori che io abbia mai visto. Sembrano fatte di filo da pesca.

C'era abbastanza cattivo gusto in giro prima che Jersey Shore andasse in onda su MTV, ma adesso possiamo dire ufficialmente addio al glamour da Vecchia Hollywood.
